A vision for the future 

‘A vision for the future’ is the name of this year’s Community Energy London conference, which takes place during Community Energy Fortnight, on Thursday 28th June, from 5pm-9pm at City Hall.

Keep the date in your diary and join us as we explore how the future of community energy in London future might look. In keeping with Community Energy England’s 2018 conference in Manchester, the focus of our event will be #energisingcommunities – and the different shades of meaning that entails!

Community Energy London ‘Powering Forward’

As part of Community Energy Fortnight CEL arranged a workshop in City Hall, hosted by Leonie Cooper on 28th June 2017 .

Leonie Cooper AM, Chair of London Assembly Environment Committee presented the London Assembly Environment Committee Getting Warmer report.

Dr Giovanna Speciale, Director SELCE then presented the findings of Community Energy London: Realising the Potential Study.

Afsheen Rashid, Chair, Community Energy England Community Energy presented their latest report: State of the Sector

The workshop broke into smaller sessions to develop ideas to put to the Mayor of London for his imminent Solar Action Plan.

  • New and emerging business models

Based on the results of the workshop and the CEL report, based on previous workshops CEL was able to submit to the Mayor details of Community Energy groups in London, their projects and the key issues faced ias well as outlining how London’s community energy sector plans to work with the Mayor to help deliver his energy and climate priorities for London.
